The two best players at the 2011 French Open have been Francesca Schiavone and Na Li so far. On Saturday we'll find out who is the best - outright.
The 2011 women's final promises to be a fiercely contested championship match as Francesca Schiavone and Na Li meet for the Roland Garros title.
For Schiavone the match represents an opportunity for her to take down her second straight French Open title, an achievement that few saw coming ahead of the 2010 French Open or even ahead of this season's tournament.
For Li the match represents her chance to win her first Grand Slam title after coming to within a set of winning the 2011 Australian Open earlier this year.
Arguably there is greater pressure under Li heading into the women's final as Schiavone has proven that she is a Grand Slam winning calibre player already.
But if Li loses on Saturday it will make her 0-2 in Grand Slam finals and she's going to start to look like one of those players, outstanding and dangerous on any day, that just doesn't have what it takes to complete the ultimate goal.
Interestingly enough in her last six Grand Slams prior to the 2011 French Open Li has been eliminated by the eventual champion five times.
2009 US Open - Li lost to Clijsters
2010 Australian Open - Li lost to S. Williams
2010 French Open - Li lost to Schiavone
2010 Wimbledon - Li lost to S. Williams
2010 US Open - Li lost K. Bondarenko (counter-example)
2011 Australian Open - Li lost to Clijsters
That trend will either continue with Schiavone winning the title through Li on Saturday on Court Philippe Chatrier (3pm CET) or Li will end it and engrave her name on the championship trophy.
Hope you can enjoy to watch online stream.
