The Brittany club have lost four of their last five games and are without a win in eight, a dreadful run of form as they seek to secure Europa League qualification for next season.
Fifth and sixth place look set to carry the reward of a place in continental competition but Rennes are in danger of missing out unless they arrest their slump. They are currently fifth but there are three in-form teams below them all within four points with four rounds of matches to go.
A win over Caen would boost morale and ease some of the pressure on Rennes, and Antonetti said: "It is in times of difficulty that we see what real men are made of. When you are on a negative run of results it is always difficult. It is inconceivable that a team as high up the table as we are should go eight games without a victory.
